Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information McCase ("we", "us") collects when you use mccase.in and its related pages (the "Service"), and how it is used.
1. Information we collect
We collect the account and profile details you give us when you sign up and use the Service, information generated by your use of the Service (such as your progress and activity within it), and anything you submit to us directly through forms such as contact or feedback requests. Where a McBuddy session is recorded, this only happens with the explicit consent of both participants in that session.
2. How we use this information
- To provide the Service: account access, saving your progress, and running McBuddy practice rooms.
- To generate AI feedback reports, only for sessions where both participants consented to recording.
- To respond to contact requests and manage access (whitelisted domains, access codes, waitlist).
- To understand product usage and improve the Service, using aggregated analytics.
- To send service-related emails (e.g. account or access notifications).
3. AI processing of recordings
Where a McBuddy session is recorded with consent, the audio is sent to third-party AI providers for transcription and feedback generation. Only what was said in the practice session is processed, for the sole purpose of producing that session's feedback report.
4. Third parties we use
We rely on trusted third-party service providers to help us operate McCase, such as for hosting and storage, processing consented recordings into feedback reports, sending emails, and understanding product usage. These providers only process data as needed to provide their service to us.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences (like dismissed popups), and measure site usage. You can clear these through your browser at any time, which will sign you out.
6. Data retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. McBuddy recordings and transcripts are retained only as long as needed to generate and display your feedback report, after which they may be deleted; contact us to request earlier deletion.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data by contacting us. You can decline AI recording in any McBuddy session; the call simply continues as voice-only.
8. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport and access-controlled storage. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
McCase is intended for college students and working professionals preparing for interviews, and is not directed at children under 13.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
